If you'd like for a unique and hot toy for your elementary school-aged daughter this Christmas that doesn't include chocolate and sugar, a Monster High Dolls playset may very well be just what you are interested in. Those of you that aren't familiar, Monster High dolls were released by Mattel in the summer of 2010 and have become must-have toys for many girls.

A Monster High doll set includes the doll, naturally, that's primarily a Barbie-sized teenage monster doll that's based on a character from a classic scary film and boasts bendable legs and arms, the pet of that doll, a diary, various other small add-ons, and a doll stand. The back of every doll's package supplies the owner with some background and biographical information on the doll.

At the moment, Mattel has released an overall total of half a dozen dolls: Draculaura, daughter of Dracula; Laguna Blue, daughter of the Sea Monster; Clawdeen Wolf, daughter of the Werewolf; Frankie Stein, daughter of Frankenstein; and Cleo De Nile, daughter of the mummy, and Deuce Gorgon, son of Medusa, who are sold as a set...they are evidently the "it" couple at Monster High. Each and every doll displays features that associate her or him to the monster father or mother. Frankie Stein includes stitches, Clawdeen Wolf sprouts fangs and ears, and Laguna Blue is featured with fins. And, as previously mentioned, each doll is accompanied by its ideal pet. For example, Draculaura carries a pet bat, and Cleo De Nile cares for a pet snake.

Mattel does suggest the Monster High Dolls set for children ages six and over due to the small pets and components and the simple fact that the arms and legs of the dolls are completely removable. Indeed, you read that previous statement correctly; the hands and arms on Monster High dolls are detachable. Why? Well, the dolls are monsters, which apparently speaks for itself; however, more practically, owners of the dolls suggest that it does make the dolls simpler to dress up.

Besides the Monster High Dolls sets, Mattel has created various other Monster High toys, along the lines of stuffed dolls, and has even developed a Monster High website, filled with character bios, games, downloadable audio, and even Monster High webisodes. Thus far, you can get fifteen webisodes accessible for viewing. Monster High, the novel, was launched September 1, 2010, the follow up is expected in September 2011, and following novels are anticipated in the years following. As with most books and films, the assortment of dolls and other add-ons will eventually expand in time.

Some other characters that appear on the Monster High internet site along with webisodes include things like Ghoulia Yelps, Holt Hyde and Jackson Jekyll; most of these characters are likely to show up as collectible dolls in the foreseeable future.

These types of dolls are the most desirable dolls on the market and are certain to bring fun and excitement this holiday season.

And for the boys, there's the Hot Wheels RC Stealth Rides, a pocket-sized remote controlled car. What boy wouldn't love that for Christmas? For other gift ideas, Great Gift Mountain is a site to keep on your shopping list.
